What internship opportunities IBM offers for students?

Interns and co-op opportunities
Student employment assignments give you the opportunity to become familiar with IBM's organization, work style, culture and global reach. These are paid positions, with a salary that is based on the number of credits completed toward your degree. Your school must provide written verification of credits received before you can begin your assignment. Co-op and internship programs are an important recruiting channel for IBM, because they help us identify promising employment candidates for the future. Participating students are often considered for repeat internships or for regular employment after graduation. Our philosophy is to keep good people around; that's why we always try to recruit once and hire twice.

Intern or co-op — what's the difference?
Co-ops can work any time of the year, and also have the option to work part-time. Managers usually prefer co-ops to work a period of six to seven months, although the exact length of an assignment may vary. Like co-ops, interns are students who get the opportunity to gain professional experience with one of the world's most innovative organizations. However, while co-op assignments can take place any time of the year, most IBM interns work summers between their academic semesters, and will therefore have shorter assignment lengths.
