The EPIC program at IBM is designed to give students real world work experience
that helps build their skills and familiarize them with IBMs organization
and work style. IBM also provides educational and career events during
work assignment terms. This type of experience will help give students
a competitive edge when they enter the work force as a new graduate.
IBM hires only the brightest students for the EPIC program. Candidates
under consideration must maintain a high level of academic achievement,
have previous relevant work or research experience, and demonstrate strong
leadership, communication, and teaming skills.
Applicants must be full-time students at an accredited university and must
be a participant in their school's co-op or internship program. We hire
students for 4-, 8-, 12-, or 16-month terms (depending on the type of student
placement), which start in January, May, or September. Competitive salary
is paid based on the number of credits completed toward a students
degree.
See your schools co-op or internship office to confirm your eligibility
for the IBM EPIC program.
IBM student summer programs offer challenging, meaningful work assignments
to students who are currently enrolled in post-secondary education and
are geared towards students who are not currently enrolled in either an
internship or co-operative education program. Students gain both professional
experience and an understanding of the business world in a high-tech environment.
These programs provide an opportunity for growth and an excellent start
to a career following graduation.
Extreme Blue is IBM's premier internship program, which acts as an incubator for world class talent, technology and business innovation. Extreme Blue projects have been running in Canada each summer since 2004. In 2006, twenty-four students on six project teams worked on initiatives spanning our Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Victoria labs. On week 12 of the 14-week internship, the students traveled to IBM Corporate Headquarters to showcase their projects and presented to the Chairman of IBM, Sam Palmisano.
Extreme Blue 2007 recruiting is about to start. From May 14 to August 24, 2007, top technical and business students from universities across Canada will prototype the technology and business case for real emerging business opportunities. The awesome global resources of IBM will be theirs to command. If you're ready to start something big next summer, apply to the website below.
