Exam information
The SY0-101: CompTIA Security+ is a vendor-neutral security test and was created by CompTIA in conjunction with security industry leaders such as IBM.
Information about this exam can be found at:
Steps for submitting SY0-101: CompTIA Security+ test results to IBM Certification
Because this is a non-IBM exam, candidates will have to notify IBM Certification when they have completed the "Security+" test requirements for the IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professional - Tivoli Security Management Solutions certification.
- Candidate takes "Security+" test at an authorized testing center. Candidate is notified at that time if they pass the test.
- Testing center feeds candidate test data back to CompTIA and it is stored in CompTIA's Integral 7 database.
- Candidate logs on to CompTIA's "Candidate Certification Information" area to forward their test information to IBM (certify@us.ibm.com)). Access to CompTIA's Candidate Certification Information tool can be found at:
https://certify.comptia.org/. Note: Candidate test information required by IBM includes: candidate name, testing ID, test name, "pass" notification.
- Candidate fulfills remaining IBM-specific exam requirements to earn the IBM Certified Advanced Deployment Professional - Tivoli Security Management Solutions certification.
