Overview Objectives Test Preparation

Section 1 - Business Assessment (20%)


Evaluate client business processes in relation to Maximo 6 EAM functionality to identify design requirements.
  1. Recognize Maximo 6 EAM features and functionality as they apply to:
    1. Asset Management
    2. Work Management
    3. Inventory Management
    4. Purchasing and Contracts
    5. Service Management
    6. Infrastructure

  2. Identify and document gaps between Maximo 6 EAM product functionality and client requirements.
    1. Functionality that can be delivered within the base product
    2. Functionality that can be delivered using Maximo configuration tools
    3. Functionality that requires extending Maximo source code
    4. Standard configuration

Section 2 - Design Solution (25%)


Evaluate client situation using business assessment output and process flow design to provide a solution in a design document.
  1. Identify problem resolution for client.
    1. Application
    2. Report specification

    4. Workflow

    7. Organize assets

Section 3 - Develop Solution (45%)


Based on the design documents, develop the solution.

    5. Set up sites/store rooms
    6. Start Center templates
    7. Auditing
    8. Sets, organization and sites

  2. Identify how to extend the base application.
    1. Add class files
    2. Export & import XML
    3. Build and deploy EAR files
    4. Setup JMS queues
    5. Appropriate use of class files, library, lookup tables, and XML

  3. Recognize how to migrate/load required data to Maximo 6 EAM.
    1. Understand methodology and tools
    2. Determine data specification and mapping requirements

      -Referential integrity
      -Data structure and business rule migrations from previous version of Maximo to Maximo 6 EAM

  4. Identify how to unit test the solution.

Section 4 - Test Solution (5%)


Perform end-to-end tests for the entire product suite that incorporate all added functionality and changes that were designed and developed.
  1. Recognize appropriate system test methods for the solution.
    1. Load test
    2. End-to-end system
    3. Integration points
    4. Evaluate all points that were built

  2. Evaluate user acceptance test scenarios to business processes.
    1. Develop comprehensive test cases that measure against defined requirements
    2. Match user acceptance test to the business requirements solution

Section 5 - Deploy Solution (5%)


Establish deployment strategy for solution delivery.
  1. Finalize rollout strategy and reassess risks.
    1. Resource availability
    2. Rollout methods and details
    3. Finalize documentation
    4. Review training plan
