If you are knowledgeable with DB2 10.1 and are capable of performing the intermediate to advanced skills required in the day-to-day administration of DB2 instances and databases, you may benefit from this certification role. 

Section 1 - DB2 Server Management (10%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to configure/manage DB2 servers, instances, and databases
  2. Demonstrate the ability to use autonomic features
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use Data Studio
    1. Demonstrate the ability to schedule jobs
    2. Demonstrate the ability to use visual explain


Section 2 - Physical Design (26%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to create a database and manipulate various DB2 objects
    1. How to convert existing db to automatic storage db
    2. Admin_move_table feature
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of partitioning capabilities
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of XML data objects
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of compression
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of new table features
  6. Knowledge of Multi-temperature data feature


Section 3 - Business Rules Implementation (8.5%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to create constraints on tables
  2. Demonstrate the ability to create views WITH CHECK OPTION
  3. Demonstrate the ability to create and using triggers
  4. Demonstrate the ability to use the set integrity command


Section 4 - Monitoring DB2 Activity (10%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to use Admin views and SQL functions for monitoring
  2. Knowledge of Work Load Manager monitoring features
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use additional auto-monitoring tools
  4. Demonstrate the ability to identify the functions of Problem Determination Tools
  5. Demonstrate the ability to capture and analyze EXPLAIN/VISUAL EXPLAIN information


Section 5 - Utilities (14%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to use traditional data movement utilities
  2. Demonstrate the ability to use the Ingest utility
  3. Demonstrate the ability to use the REORG, REORGCHK, REBIND, RUNSTATS and FLUSH PACKAGE CACHE utilities
  4. Demonstrate the ability to use the DB2 Design Advisor utility


Section 6 - High Availability (10%)

  1. Describe DB2 data integrity actions (crash recovery, version recovery, roll forward recovery)
  2. Demonstrate the ability to perform database-level and table space level backup and recovery operations
  3. Demonstrate the ability to configure and manage HADR (read from standby)
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of DB2 pureScale (HA features only)


Section 7 - Security (15%)

  1. Describe DB2 authorizations and privileges
  2. Knowledge of the security administrator role
  3. Demonstrate general knowledge of the Audit facility
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of the trusted context
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of row column access control (RCAC)
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of LBAC


Section 8 - Connectivity and Networking (6.5%)

  1. Demonstrate the ability to configure database connectivity
  2. Demonstrate knowledge of DB2 Discovery
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of LDAP
