The test consists of five sections containing a total of approx. 56 multiple-choice questions. The percentages after each section title reflect the approximate distribution of the total question set across the sections.
Section 1 - Architecture, Topology and Monitor Infrastructure (14%)
- Describe what Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) encompasses
- Plan and design the monitor environment and infrastructure based on business requirements (i.e., clustered topology, stand-alone topology, development environment)
- Define Event architecture
- Describe the common event infrastructure (CEI)
- Apply security based on requirements
- Identify the WebSphere Business Monitor components
Section 2 - WebSphere Business Monitor General Knowledge, Installation and Configuration (16%)
- Identify the primary function and business value of WebSphere Business Monitor
- Identify SOA core components within an IBM WebSphere Business Monitor environment
- Plan the installation of IBM WebSphere Business Monitor and the required prerequisites
- Install Monitor Development Toolkit and test environment
- Install Monitor runtime components (i.e., single-server environment, distributed)
- Install and configure Business Space
- Install Monitor dashboard portlets into Portal Server
- Configure database and messaging resources (i.e., SIB, messaging engine, single cell, cross cell considerations)
- Configure Queue Bypass for event processing for: same-cell /cross-cell topologies
Section 3 - Monitor Model Design, Development and Testing (30%)
- Design the Monitor model based on business and technical requirements
- Develop contexts to define and group Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the KPI Model
- Identify event emitters within a business application and design the structure of the events to support the required business measures
- Create business measures within the monitor model
- Create cubes, dimensions and measures within the dimensional model
- Create event definitions for inbound and outbound events based on event architecture
- Create the event definitions within the editor and publish events to monitor models
- Develop and test the visual model
- Generate and test the monitor model within the test development environment
- Generate the monitor model and manage model versioning for deployment
- Compare and merge monitor models
Section 4 - Monitor Model Installation (13%)
- Deploy a monitor model within the admin console
- Undeploy a monitor model within the admin console
- Deploy a version of the monitor model
- Determine whether the model version can be updated or redeployed
Section 5 - Dashboard Design, Configuration and Testing (14%)
- Select the appropriate Monitor widgets/portlets to design a dashboard based on business requirements
- Configure Business Space
- Configure Monitor widgets/portlets
- Configure multiple widgets/portlets to work in cooperative mode
- Test dashboards in development and runtime environment
Section 6 - Managing Monitor Environment (13%)
- Configure Monitor server security
- Tune the Monitor production environment
- Troubleshoot errors in the development environment
- Troubleshoot errors in the Monitor production environment
- Troubleshoot event processing failures
- Manage failed events within the Monitor admin console
- Record production environment events for playback in a test environment
