- Identify customer’s technology requirements
- Identify constraints in customer’s physical environment
Architect a storage solution that addresses the customer’s business - Design the solution to comply with the customer’s existing site constraints
- Determine the minimum number and type f storage fibre channel ports necessary to support a client’s host connectivity requirements
- Architect a copy solution to optimize consistency across multiple storage systems into metro and global environments
- Determine the capacity required to support multiple platforms (i.e. Open Systems, Power, and Mainframe loads sharing a single system)
- Determine the optimum number and placement of fibre channel adapters in a DS8000
- Develop the migration plan that meets customer requirements regarding outage effort
- Determine a configuration to meet the desired performance of the storage subsystem
- Develop a configuration to meet the desired performance of the storage subsystem
- Develop installation plan/schedule in conjunction with customer/client
Implement the solution - Conduct a solution assurance review (SAR) of an IBM Enterprise Disk subsystem
- Perform administrative console tasks
- Implement a point-in-time copy design
- Implement remote copy services
- Activate the licenses
- Implement a solution to provide consistency across multiple storage systems using a metro/global mirror
- Configure the logical storage solution
