- Determine the minimum number and type of storage fibre channel ports necessary to support a client’s host connectivity requirements
- Architect a copy solution to optimize consistency across multiple storage systems into metro and global enivironments
- Determine the capacity required to support the solution
- Determine the optimum number and placement of host adapters in a DS8000
- Develop the migration plan that meets customer requirements regarding outage and effort
- Determine the appropriate OEL and Advanced Function licenses
- Develop a configuration to meet the desired performance of the storage subsystem
- Develop installation plan/schedule in conjunction with customer
- Architect a point-in-time backup solution
Implement the solution - Conduct a solution assurance review (SAR) of an IBM Enterprise Disk Subsystem
- Perform administrative console tasks
- Implement point-in-time copy design
- Implement remote copy services
- Activate the licenses
- Implement a solution to provide consistency across multiple storage systems using metro/global mirro
- Configure the logical storage solution
- Implement the migration plan
Provide post-installation support - Conduct post installation review to determine if proposed benefits were realized
- Educate the customer on post-installation issues/problem resolution procedures
- Document the installation as installed
- Resolve performance issues
