Section 1 - Basic AIX Manipulations

  1. Save the output from an AIX command in a file
  2. Use the contents of a file as input to an AIX command
  3. Use a pipeline to pass output from one AIX command to another command
  4. Start, stop, and page using AIX command output
  5. Use mail to send to local users
  6. Use mail to delete or forward mail
  7. Set your password

Section 2 - AIX on-line Documentation

  1. Start and stop Documentation Library Service and Search Service
  2. Use and understand the types of information available in the different sections of the Documentation Library Service (e.g., +Description, Purpose, Syntax, Flags, Related Information)
  3. Use and understand Man Pages

Section 3 - AIX File System

  1. Distinguish between a regular AIX file and an AIX directory
  2. Choose appropriate names for AIX files
  3. Identify and manipulate AIX files using path names
  4. Find the current directory on the AIX system
  5. Use commands to list the files in an AIX directory
  6. Navigate within the AIX file system

Section 4 - AIX System Screen Editor (vi)

Section 5 - Setting Up a Login Session

Section 6 - Managing Files
