To prepare for Test C2180-188, it is first recommended that you are familiar with the job role description and the parameters this certification is based on, as well as have knowledge of the topics outlined in the test objectives/skills measured on the test. Compare your own technical level to the test objectives and the recommended training resources, and then determine for yourself how much preparation you require. Note that these educational sources are recommended, but not required (*) before taking a certification test.

Before preparing for the certification test, it is recommended that you measure your current level of skill by taking the Assessment Test (located from the "Sample/Assessment test" link above). After you have completed your test preparation/training, you can assess your improved level of skill and readiness for the certification test, by re-taking the Assessment Test.

You can prepare for the test through the Tutor Approach (classroom, instructor led course) or the Self-Study Approach. Sources within each approach collectively cover the skills measured on the test.

To prepare via the Tutor Approach, take course [ (WB001 or ZB001) + (WB004 or ZB004) + ZB727 ] and refer to the sources with an * in front of them.  Note that per this formula, you are required to take 3 courses.

To prepare via the Self-Study Approach, omit the course, and refer to all other sources with and without the * in front.

Classroom Course

Course title: IBM WebSphere Lombardi Edition 7.1-7.2 Process Modeling

Course duration: 2.0 days

Course number: WB001

Abstract: Please also see alternative option ZB001 (listed under "Online course").

This 2-day, instructor-led course teaches core process modeling skills, project development methodology, best practice patterns, and implementation practices that improve the speed and quality of process definition efforts.

In this course, you will use IBM WebSphere Lombardi Edition to create a Business Process Definition (BPD) from business requirements that are identified during process analysis. The course begins with an overview of BPM and process modeling. You will learn how to make team collaboration more efficient by enabling all team members to use standard process model elements and notation, which makes expressing and interpreting business requirements consistent throughout the BPM life cycle. The course also teaches you how to build an agile and flexible shared process model that can be understood by key business stakeholders, implemented by developers, and adjusted to accommodate process changes. You will learn how to work within the parameters of the BPM life cycle methodology in ways that maximize the functionality of WebSphere Lombardi Edition and project development best practices, such as meeting the target playback goal.

This course utilizes an interactive learning environment, with hands-on demonstrations, class activities to reinforce concepts and check understanding, and lab exercises that enable hands-on experience with BPM tasks and skills. This course is designed to be collaborative, and you can work in teams to perform class activities.
