Abstract: This course provides information on how to prepare, install, configure and initialize the IBM XIV Storage System. It describes the steps to follow for the configuration of an IBM XIV Storage system, and provide information about setting up, installing, configuring and working with the three features that assist with copy services: Snapshot, Volume Copy, and the Remote Mirror. This class is also offered as an Instructor Led Online class.
Demo / Product Tour
The IBM XIV Storage System provides a set of management tools, including the IBM XIV Storage Management GUI (XIV GUI), the IBM XIV online monitoring tool (XIVTop) and the XIV command-line interface (XCLI). These tools are used to configure and monitor the XIV System. The XIV GUI can also run in Demo Mode when a functional XIV System is not available. For test preparation be familiar with the basic functions and navigation of the XIV GUI, and how to interpret information presented by the tool. Running the tool in Demo Mode is sufficient for this learning activity.
