Abstract: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Express (TSM Express)
delivers the same reliability and robustness as IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
Extended Edition, but in a smaller footprint to meet the needs of small and
mid-sized businesses. TSM Express combines rapid implementation and simple
configuration to enable you to promptly begin protecting the workstations, file
servers, and applications in your computing environment. Learn the TSM
Express basic concepts and functions, examine the best practices for disk
configuration and optional tape management, and discuss the options available
for performing online backups of mail servers and database applications.
Through hands-on exercises, become familiar with basic installation,
configuration, and operation of TSM Express and be guided through the typical
tasks required to use the TSM Express product to protect the files and data
objects in your production environment. Learn to install the TSM Express backup
server and backup client software and perform an initial backup. Also, learn to
use the wizard-based administrative interface to configure schedules and server
