It is highly recommended that you use a variety of resources to prepare for certification exams.
It is first recommended that you are familiar with:
- the job role description and the parameters this certification is based on.
- the test objectives/skills measured on the test. Use this as your checklist to determine your strengths, and identify those areas where you may need to focus more attention in your studies and preparation.
Next, use the recommended training resources on this page to further your knowledge. These educational sources are recommended, but not required before taking a certification test. Determine for yourself how much preparation you require.
It is important to note that actual hands-on experience is a critical component in preparing for the exam. Direct application of the skills learned cannot be substituted by any resources listed here. You must spend time using the product and applying the skills learned. The exam is designed to measure hands-on experience, or how well you know how to perform job related tasks

Course title:
IBM FileNet P8 Platform 5.0: System Implementation and Administration (Classroom)
Course duration: 5 days
Course number: F1420
Abstract:
This course is for those whose job responsibility is to maintain, monitor, and configure an operational IBM FileNet P8 Content Manager system. Maintenance tasks include starting and stopping FileNet P8 engines and other system components as required, configuring object stores and file systems for storing documents, and implementing system security and access control structures.
In addition, this course is for those whose job responsibility is to build or implement a business solution using the tools provided with an IBM FileNet P8 system. These tasks include creating content data structures (document classes), document properties, list structures, document indexes, and stored searches and queries. Related activities include exporting and importing documents and associated metadata from one object store to another.
You work with a fully functioning, IBM FileNet P8 system to practice the skills required for administering, configuring, and monitoring components of an IBM FileNet P8 Content Manager system, as well as building and modifying an IBM FileNet P8 business solution.
This intermediate course is for anyone who is currently, or soon will be, administering an IBM FileNet P8 system or building a business solution hosted on the IBM FileNet P8 platform.

Product Documentation
With the information center, you can view, browse, and search online information about one or more products. The information center is built on open source software developed by the Eclipse Project (http://www.eclipse.org). The information center uses an embedded Web application server to handle content requests. It then displays the information in your default Web browser. You can create your own documentation plug-ins and integrate them in the information center. To learn about creating and packaging documentation plug-ins, see the Eclipse Project's Web site: http://www.eclipse.org.
