Abstract: This workshop provides an in-depth understanding of the design and technology behind the IBM's BladeCenter systems and components, with main focus on the blades and modules available for the different IBM BladeCenter chassis. The course presents a detailed technical introduction to the different blade servers. In addition, through lecture as well as remote lab exercises the course discusses in detail Ethernet and storage solutions that are available.
The course also discusses various management options for the BladeCenter using IBM Director. Capabilities and features of the IBM Director are explained, as well as management and configuration capabilities.

BladeCenter S Workshop

Abstract: This workshop provides an in-depth understanding of IBM's design and technology concepts for the BladeCenter S chassis and its components, to include integrated storage capabilities.
With a combination of lecture materials and remote lab exercises, this workshop presents a detailed technical introduction of the BladeCenter S architectural features. This course introduces and discusses the various management options available for the BladeCenter S chassis, the Advanced Management Module’s web-interface and functions, as well as troubleshooting and installation considerations.
This course also introduces the Storage Configuration Manager, and provides technical instructions on creating user-defined zone configurations and pre-defined zone configurations for the BladeCenter S chassis integrating Disk Storage Module(s) to achieve SAN like functions. Remote labs cover identifying the BladeCenter S environment, configuration of the BladeCenter S chassis using the Advanced Management Module with the I/O module initial configuration, basic enablement of external ports, single disk storage module configuration, and a pre-defined zone configuration. In addition you will build a user-defined zone configuration using the Storage Configuration Manager and learn how to manage a BladeCenter S environment.
