Professional Certification Program from IBM role
names emphasize a level of competency or skill. The role names are
qualified by the specific product or skill area being certified. Together
the two components are recognized as a certification role.
Three levels of certification are offered by the Professional Certification
Program from IBM, each characterized by a different level of competency.
(Note: not every certification category, such as Data Management or e-business, will have certifications roles at all levels --- only at the levels that are appropriate.)
Within each level, more than one role name may be possible, depending
on the discipline being certified. For example, the roles "Solutions Expert" and "Solution Developer" are both options within Level 2. See the table below for the list of possible
IBM certification role names.
Certifications for IBM software are in transition to a new role title and level structure in the first half of 2003. For more information, see the announcement, and details of the new role structure.
