IBM is pleased to announce the addition of the following job-role certification and applicable test to the
Professional Certification Program from IBM (www.ibm.com/certify).
This certification is available worldwide
today, June 19, 2009. By achieving this certification, intermediate level system administrators have validated
their knowledge and skills, and can demonstrate their technical competence to others.
IBM System Administrator – WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment, V7.0
Test 000-377, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment, V7.0, Core Administration
This intermediate level certification is intended for system administrators who perform the installation,
configuration and day-to-day tasks associated with ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of a WebSphere
Application Server runtime environment.
This includes:
- product installation and configuration
- installation and deployment of Java enterprise applications
- connection to back-end resources
- configuration of WebSphere messaging
- configuration of security
- troubleshooting
- development of scripts for automating day-to-day tasks
- system monitoring and gathering data for performance tuning
- back-up and recovery
This administrator is generally self-sufficient and is able to perform most of the tasks involved in the role
with limited assistance from peers, product documentation and vendor support services.

To attain the certification credential, candidates must pass 1 test: Test 000-377.

IBM System Administrator – WebSphere Application Server, Network Deployment, V7.0:
- job role description/target audience to which the test is built
- test objectives or detailed skills measured on the test
- test preparation / training resources used to prepare based on the test objectives
- assessment test to gauge ones readiness for the actual test
Test 000-377 is available via test delivery vendor
Prometric.
Test 000-377 is also available to IBM employees at a reduced rate via the IBM SWG Prime
Test Centers, and IBMers can obtain test registration information via
certify@us.ibm.com.
Test 000-377 is a 90 minute test. The test fee is set to the economy of a country as $200 USD each
in developed countries and $100 USD each in emerging market countries. The test delivery vendor can verify
the specific test fee within each country.
