Changes to IBM Software Brand Exam Pricing in 2009

December 2, 2008

All IBM Software brand tests will be the same price in 2009, regardless of length or product. As a result, Lotus will no longer have exam pricing tiered to duration for our developed markets. As of January 1st, 2009 all IBM Software brand exams (including Lotus) will cost 200 USD (or equivalent). For Lotus, this represents an increase of 0-25% depending on the exam. In growth markets exam prices will increase 20% to 100USD (or equivalent).

As stated above, this increase effects all IBM Software brands with the exception of one who already has their tests set at these prices. This decision was based on two factors: a desire for consistancy amongst the IBM brands both on the part of the Certification program managers and on the part of the Certification Professionals; and as a result of an analysis done by the sponsors this fall. IBM Software Group Certification Program Managers gathered and compared test prices from major companies offering IT certifications. Increasing our prices in 2009 keeps us in line with the market value.

Lotus is keeping the cost of exams at 75USD each for Lotusphere 2009, the same price clients have enjoyed in previous years. This is a significant savings of over 60% off the regular 2009 retail price. If you are planning to attend Lotusphere, ensure you schedule some time to get up to date on your certifications.
