IBM is pleased to announce the addition of the following job-role
certification and applicable test to the Professional Certification
Program from IBM (www.ibm.com/certify). This certification is available
worldwide today, November 28, 2008. By achieving this certification,
intermediate level application developers have validated their knowledge
and skills, and can demonstrate their technical competence to others.
IBM Certified Application Developer - WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.2
Test 349, IBM WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.2, Application Development
This intermediate level certification is intended for application developers that analyze,
design, develop, test, and deploy WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.2 data transformation.
These professionals should be familiar with the data and programming model for WebSphere Transformation Extender,
common modeling and mapping techniques, and methods for connecting to data sources and targets.
This certification includes:
- WebSphere Transformation Extender product architecture
- Creating & using type trees
- Creating complex transformations
- Testing & deploying maps
- Identifying and remediating errors
- Optimizing maps and type trees for performance
- Using WebSphere Transformation Extender with adapters
To attain the certification credential, candidates must pass Test 349.
Test 349 is designed to measure skills in the areas of:

To help candidates prepare, the following information is provided, and accessible via
IBM Certified Application Developer - WebSphere Transformation Extender V8.2 :
- job role description/target audience to which the test is built
- test objectives or detailed skills measured on the test
- test preparation / training resources used to prepare based on the test objectives
- assessment test to gauge ones readiness for the actual test
Test 349 is available via test delivery vendor
 Prometric.
Test 349 is also available to IBM employees at a
reduced rate via the IBM SWG Prime Test Centers, and IBMers can obtain
test registration information via certify@us.ibm.com.
Test 349 is a 2 hour (120 minute) test. The test fee
is set to the economy of a country as $150 USD each in developed countries
and $75 USD each in growth market countries. The test delivery vendor can
verify the specific test fee within each country.
