System Administrator - WebSphere Process Server V6.1

IBM is pleased to announce the addition of the following job-role
certification and applicable test to the Professional Certification
Program from IBM (www.ibm.com/certify). This certification is
available worldwide today, September 3, 2008. By achieving this
certification, intermediate level system administrators have
validated their knowledge and skills, and can demonstrate their
technical competence to others.
IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Process Server V6.1
(Test 253, IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.1, Core Administration
or
Test 806, IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.1, Advanced Administration)
plus
Test 995, IBM WebSphere Process Server V6.1, System Administration
This intermediate level certification is intended for system administrators
that perform the installation, configuration and day-to-day tasks associated with ensuring
the smooth and efficient operation of the WebSphere Process Server runtime environment. This
includes product installation, configuration and deployment of business processes and adapters,
connecting to back-end resources and basic troubleshooting. These individuals tune the WebSphere
Process Server runtime environment with respect to resource utilization, scaling, clustering,
deployment environments, and load balancing as appropriate.
This system administrator is generally self-sufficient and is able to
perform most of the tasks involved in the role with limited assistance
from peers, product documentation and vendor support services.
To attain the certification credential, candidates must pass 2 tests: (Test 253 or Test 806) + Test 995.
Test 253 is designed to measure skills in the areas of:

Test 995 is designed to measure skills in the areas of:

| 3. Deploying and Configuring Modules | 13% |
| 4. Configuring Supporting Services | 15% |
| 5. Security | 8% |
| 6. Monitoring and Performance Tuning | 5% |

| 8. Topology and Clustering | 11% |
Practical experience and in-depth product knowledge are required to ensure success on the test.
To help candidates prepare, the following information is provided, and accessible via the
IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Process Server V6.1
- job role description/target audience to which the test is built
- test objectives or detailed skills measured on the test
- test preparation / training resources used to prepare based on the test objectives
- assessment test to gauge ones readiness for the actual test
Tests 253, 808 and 995 are available via
test delivery vendor Prometric.
Tests 253, 808 and 995 are also
available to IBM employees at a reduced rate via the IBM SWG Prime Test Centers,
and IBMers can obtain test registration information via
certify@us.ibm.com.
Tests 253 and 995 are both 90 minute tests.
Test 806 is a 120 minute test.
The test fee is set to the economy of a country as $150 USD each in developed
countries and $75 USD each in emerging market countries. The test delivery vendor
can verify the specific test fee within each country.
