IBM Certified Systems Expert – System x High Performance Servers

Effective January 1, 2006, all candidates who pass Test 074: xSeries - Windows 2000/2003 Installation and Performance Optimization, Test 077: xSeries Technical High Performance Servers V2, and Test 078 BladeCenter® without taking the prerequisite examinations will receive a Certified Specialist (CS) credential. Those taking all prerequisites and passing the exam will receive the CSE. Those having credentials and working towards a CATE credentials will be given until June, 2007 to complete their CATE. After this date, the CATE credential will no longer be available. Those holding a CATE credential can keep that credential upon the passing of one certification exam per year thereafter.

incorporating the following technologies:
- Networking
- Storage
- Performance tuning
- Basic Systems Management
- 4-way and above processors
- SAN
- System management
- Clustering
To attain the IBM Certified Systems Expert – System x High Performance Servers
certification, candidates must pass 2 tests, one of which is a prerequisite.

Prior to attaining IBM Certified Systems Expert – System x High Performance certification, candidates must be certified as:
IBM Certified Specialist – System x Technical.

- Supports high-end configuration
- Has installed four or more high-end System x servers
- Has broad Intel-based experience (dramatic differences from RISC-based)
- Supports the main operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMware, and/or NetWare
