The IBM Certified Specialist - PureFlex Systems Sales V1 specialist creates, identifies, and expands opportunities and takes customer orders to fulfillment. This specialist determines business needs and requirements, designs and sells PureFlex solutions that address customer needs and requirements, and positions the solution in terms of what it will do for the customer's business. Individuals in this role can justify solutions from a financial perspective, effectively use tools and resources to close sales, and work within accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and build/maintain customer relationships. The successful candidate will be familiar with the IBM PureFlex product family as well as typically encountered competitive solutions.
The PureFlex Sales Specialist has a broad knowledge of the features, functions and benefits of PureFlex solutions. This specialist knows PureFlex servers, networking, Flex Systems Manager software and services/offerings, as well as competitive offerings and what differentiates the PureFlex family. This specialist knows the IBM support structure and available resources, and keeps up with IBM and industry trends in order to best position customer solutions. Individuals in this role are skilled in consultative selling, negotiation, relationship management, financial marketing, written and oral communication, and team building.
The target audience for this certification includes IBM Business Partners and IBM employees who are responsible for selling IBM PureFlex solutions.
Recommended Prerequisite Skills
The successful candidate will have one or more years of experience selling in at least one of these areas: servers, networking, storage, or systems management. They are able to work with customers to discover their needs, relate PureFlex features and functions to those needs, identify the complete solution and guide the customer through the acquisition process. The successful candidate will have a understanding of the Pure Systems family and a strong understanding of PureFlex offerings.
Terms and names used in exam questions will include proper IBM names, proper competitive names, and terms and names commonly used by our customers. It is expected the candidate will recognize and understand these terms and names.
