An IBM Certified Deployment Professional
- Tivoli Enterprise Console V3.9 is a person who plans
the TEC V3.9 architecture and integration into the environment, installs the
TEC code, analyzes the client-s environment for best practices event
management, writes the appropriate rules and adapter configurations,
understands how to test the rules and adapters, and places them into
production. It is expected that this person will be able to perform these tasks
with limited assistance from peers, product documentation and vendor support
services.
To attain
the IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Tivoli
Enterprise Console V3.9 certification, candidates must
pass 1 test.

- In-depth knowledge of two or more of the
following environments: Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Windows XP Professional, Windows
2000/2003 Server and Advanced Server, and Linux.
- Basic
network client/server concepts.
- Understanding of event
management best practices.
- Expertise in scripting, i.e.
Perl, Bourne or Korn.
- Working knowledge of relational
databases including: DB2, Informix, Oracle, Sybase,
MSSQL.
- Using a programming language such as
PROLOG.
- Administering and troubleshooting TCP/IP
networks.
- Basic understanding of WebSphere
concepts.
- Basic understanding of Tivoli Data
Warehouse.
- Familiarity with Java and
XML.
- Working knowledge of Tivoli
Framework.
- Functional understanding of NetView,
including rule engine, GUI services, NetView Web Console.
