This individual has extensive operational experience of storage management, specifically operational experience common in IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5 release. This Operator is capable of performing the operational tasks related to monitoring TSM operations, managing TSM client and server functions, interpreting configurations, and basic troubleshooting. To attain the IBM Certified Storage Operator - Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5 certification, candidates must pass 1 test.

The IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5 Operators exam is platform independent and applies to heterogeneous environments. Candidates MUST have sufficient training and experience to be tested on storage management operations. The following qualifications are requirements for success: - Operational experience and knowledge of IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5
- Hands-on experience as an IBM Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5 operator
- Understanding of backup methodologies (incremental, selective, image, progressive, on-site, off-site, etc.)
- Basic operating systems knowledge
- Basic networking knowledge (LAN, SAN, WAN)
- Basic storage device knowledge (disk, tape, NAS, etc.)
- Basic problem determination skill
