responsible for planning, installing, configuring, troubleshooting,

solution. This individual will be expected to perform these tasks with limited
assistance from peers, product documentation, and support
resources.
To attain the IBM Certified Specialist - Tivoli Monitoring Express
V6.1 certification, candidates must
pass 1 test.

architecture and components
- Plan and design an IBM
Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1 solution based on customer
requirements/environment
- Install and configure
prerequisites to IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1
- Install and configure IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1 infrastructure
components
- Use various interfaces to configure and
administer the IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1
environment
- Perform performance tuning and problem
determination for IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1
- Strong working knowledge of IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1 infrastructure
components
- Working knowledge of Windows operating
systems
- Working knowledge of OS and networking concepts
for agents
- Working knowledge of upgrading from the trial
version of IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1
- Basic
knowledge of security (SSL, data encryption, GS Kit, system user
accounts)
- Basic knowledge of supported databases (DB2
UDB Express or Enterprise V8.2, Microsoft SQL 2000) and
ODBC
- Basic knowledge of the enterprise wide monitoring
capabilities of IBM Tivoli Monitoring Express V6.1
- Basic
knowledge of protocols including http, TCP/IP, and SNA
