The purpose of this certification is to insure that candidates demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively identify and solve customer-s business needs by using the sales tools and resources in order to sell the advantages of the IBM DS 5000 series of products.

Candidates should have three years of experience selling storage and one year selling DS3000 or DS4000 products. The candidate should be able to - Identify existing infrastructure and customer requirements and business growth strategy
- Utilize sales tools and marketing resources
- Position products to fit needs
- Leverage IBM benefits over major competitors for each product

With assistance, the prepared candidate for certification should be able to perform system design, solution architecting including | | - DS3000, DS4000, DS5000 Storage Manager, storage simulator, interoperability matrix, COG and e-config, elearning modules, and pricing tools
|
The candidate for certification does not have to be proficient or experienced in basic rack-and-stack cabling, firmware upgrades, detailed configuration, storage partitioning setup, copy services, replication services, device intermix, problem determination, performance monitoring, data migration, advanced performance tuning. |
