The IBM Certified Specialist - Open
Systems Storage Solutions, performs requirements analysis, solution design, and
planning/installing for open systems storage solutions. This specialist takes a
consultative approach to support sales, as well as trains customers and peers
on IBM system storage products. The IBM Open Systems Storage Solutions
Specialist has a wide range of technical knowledge within open systems and
mid-range storage products. He or she has the skills to integrate those
products into customer solutions and provide assistance with technical issues.
This specialist understands and is able to explain tape, disk, SAN, NAS, as
well as IBM's storage management and storage software. He or she can describe
IBM and the competition's storage strategy and solutions, including business
trends and directions.

- Two years experience in IBM technical storage
support
- Three to five years experience in a related
Information Technology support role
- Experience in multiple
Open Systems platforms (e.g., Linux, Unix, Windows).
- Work independently to provide pre- and post-technical sales support, solution
design, and implementation of storage solutions in an open systems
environment
