The IBM Certified Specialist - System z Cloud and Linux Solution Selling identifies opportunities to help System z customers and prospective customers make streamline their business through the use of IBM Cloud and Linux solutions on System z.
This specialist determines business needs and requirements, designs and sells public and private Clouds solutions that support customer needs and requirements, and positions the solution in terms of how it will benefit customer's environment.
Individuals in this role can justify solutions from a financial perspective, effectively identify tools and resources to close sales.
The System z Cloud and Linux Specialist has a broad knowledge of the features, functions, and software offerings which support Cloud and Linux in the customer environment. This specialist knows System z hardware, software and services/offerings, and can make appropriate recommendations based on customer requirements.
This specialist knows the IBM support structure and available resources, and keeps up with IBM and industry trends to effectively position solutions. Individuals in this role are skilled in consultative selling, negotiation, relationship management, financial marketing, written and oral communication, and team building.
The target audience for this certification is IBM employees, both brand sellers and client technical sellers, who are responsible for selling IBM Cloud solutions on System z.
Recommended Prerequisite Skills
The successful candidate will have two to five (2-5) years of experience selling System z servers, with at the last two years focused on maximizing a customer's capability to use Cloud solutions in various delivery and deployment models.
They are able to work with customers to discover their needs, relate System z and zEnterprise features and functions to those needs, identify the complete solution and guide the customer through the acquisition process.
