IBM Certified Specialist - System x IBM Director v5.2 v1


Job Role Description / Target Audience

IBM Director is a comprehensive hardware management solution based on industry standards that works with a variety of platforms, operating systems, and network protocols enabling systems administrators to manage heterogeneous environments. 

The following describes the characteristics of the ideal candidate for certification in IBM Director: 
  • This certification validates the skills required to gather requirements, plan, design, install and maintain IBM Director on System x servers. 
  • This certification is targeted to IBM Business Partners, Advanced Technical Specialists (ATS), Field Technical Sales Support (FTSS) professionals, System x Service Specialists, System x Systems Administrators, IBM TechLine professionals, and System x customers. 


Recommended Prerequisite Skills

Six to 12 months of hands-on experience using 5.1 and 5.2 releases of IBM Director on System x servers. 
  • Operating System Knowledge (Microsoft Windows Server 2000 or 2003, Linux, AIX, VMware) 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of System x and BladeCenter technology and systems management. 
  • Recommended completion of the XTR43 course or equivalent.
