IBM Certified System Administrator - WebSphere Commerce V6.0


Job Role Description / Target Audience

This intermediate level system administrator is an individual with extensive product knowledge who primarily installs, configures, and maintains e-commerce sites using IBM WebSphere Commerce V6.0 (either Enterprise, Professional or Express editions.) This administration professional has a general awareness of how the product components interact and the capabilities of the components, as well as the configurations and architecture of production and staging systems. 

This professional can handle the following administrative tasks:
  • successfully install and configure the product
  • scale up and deploy in a WebSphere Network Deployment environment
  • publish a sample starter store and verify that it is working 
  • successfully enable and configure payments framework 
  • successfully configure WebSphere Commerce messaging transports 
  • load, store/catalog data into WebSphere Commerce 
  • use the features of the administrative tools 
  • perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tracing 
  • perform ongoing administration and maintenance tasks 
  • apply fixes and feature packs
  • deploy and update customized code
  • monitor and tune system performance
  • set up and control WebSphere Commerce site security

This professional does not write Java code or customize sites, so he or she does not need to have Java programming experience, but does need basic knowledge of J2EE based technologies.

  • experience with WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.x with emphasis on administration
