IBM Certified Application Developer -- DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Family


Job Role Description / Target Audience

An IBM Certified Application Developer is an intermediate or advanced level application developer specializing in creating applications that run on any of the DB2 platforms: Linux, UNIX (including AIX, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris), and Windows, z/OS, s/390, and iseries. This individual has strong skills in all common programming tasks as well as strong skills in one or more of the specialty areas: embedded SQL programming, ODBC/CLI programming, or Java programming. 

To attain the IBM Certified Application Developer - DB2 Universal Database V8.1 Family certification, candidates must pass 2 tests.


Recommended Prerequisite Skills

  • Significant experience as a DB2 Universal Database Application Developer.

Note: If you have obtained a certification from a qualifying IBM Informix System Administration certification, it is not necessary for you to complete exam 700. Qualifying IBM Informix System Administration certifications include IBM Certified Solutions Expert - Informix Dynamic Server V9 System Administrator, IBM Certified Solutions Expert - Informix Dynamic Server V7 System Administrator, IBM Certified Solutions Expert - Red Brick Warehouse V6 System Administrator.
