The IBM Certified Specialist - System i Integration with BladeCenter and System x V1 has experience in design, setup of the system, integrated server installation, and implementation of infrastructure solutions involving integrated servers on POWER on System i
. To attain this certification the candidate must pass one test.
The target audience for this certification is technical personnel: System i Business Partners, IBM System i personnel such as FTSS and ATS, and Customers.

Experience in design, setup of the system, integrated servers installation, and implementation of infrastructure solutions involving integrated servers on POWER on System i
.
At a minimum:
o Two to three years experience with System i, including one year specifically with doing System i integrated servers (for example, experience consisting of taking a college course on System i would not be sufficient).
o Experience participating in at least 3 to 4 integrated server engagements (including both iSCSI and IXA) in design, system setup, installation, and implementation of infrastructure solutions involving integrated servers on POWER on System i.
General experience with iSCSI, IXA, IXS

General experience in Windows administration.
General knowledge and experience:
o
Understands System i, POWER5, POWER5+, BladeCenter, System x, and i5/OS V5R4 from a general design and implementation perspective.
o Familiarity with the IBM iSCSI install read me first.
o Familiarity with the IBM IXA install read me first.
o Familiarity with the IBM System i System Handbook and System Builder (V5R4 and two previous versions).
o Understands the System i product portfolio, including the current release and hardware, and previous releases and generations.
