Job Role Description / Target Audience
This certification targets intermediate-level developers, architects, or consultants with extensive product knowledge, who design or develop IBM WebSphere Portal solutions. These individuals have a breadth of knowledge in operational services and skills for IBM WebSphere Portal 8.5. The audience is familiar with Java, the use of the JSR 286 specification, theme development, and Portal APIs/SPIs.
This includes tasks associated with:
- Architecture and Configuration
- Developing Portlets
- Developing Themes and Skins
- Portal APIs and SPIs
This developer is generally self-sufficient and is able to perform most of the tasks involved in this role with limited assistance from peers, product documentation, or support services.

- Basic networking concepts
- Java programming and development
- JSP and Servlets knowledge
- HTML and CSS knowledge
