Sana Security creates award-winning, autonomous intrusion prevention
software that is aware of environment change, adaptive to new threats
and active in preventing attacks before they do harm across mission-critical
computer systems. Sana Security is partnering with IBM to provide an integrated
solution to customers that delivers automated provisioning of intrusion
protection. Sana Security’s Primary Response intrusion prevention
product will work with IBM Tivoli® Enterprise Console® and the
Autonomic Computing initiative to provide customers with an enterprise
solution for network maintenance of security policies.
"Sana Security is excited to participate in this initiative with
an established industry leader like IBM, who is well-known for their innovation.
Both companies take inspiration from the human body, its central nervous
and immune systems, in order to overcome the necessary complexity of interlocking
networks in today's business world. Today's dynamic organizations demand
more than the static security and computing technologies, our goal is
to deliver the benefits of true autonomic computing."
- Timothy Eades, senior vice president, Sana Security

Primary Response’s autonomic
approach to intrusion prevention software offers customers a higher level
of protection, in a highly scalable and manageable manner, with negligible
performance impact. As a result, organizations can improve the security
and availability of critical business resources, while reducing operational
costs (especially in the area of patch management, in terms of financial
and human resource) and ensuring compliance with corporate policy and
federal regulations. Primary Response works with Tivoli Enterprise Console
to provide customers with automated management of system security. Both
Primary Response and Tivoli Enterprise Console are event-based systems.
Primary Response is packaged in a way to be deployed by Tivoli. New systems
on the network can automatically be deployed with Primary Response for
instant and constant protection. Primary Response is automatically configured
for the system based on preset values for system groups. Primary Response
continues to adapt protection of the system with learned profiles and
shared protection policies that are continuously updated with trusted
application and known malicious software lists. Protection is provided
at the system kernel level, preventing unknown drivers, changes to registry
settings, and specific file system behaviors, while also self-protecting
the Primary Response Agent.
