“The autonomic toolkit has been very useful in our approach to the adoption of IBM autonomic computing core technologies. The Log & Trace Analyzer is an essential tool for the validation of the Common Base Events generated by our application. Because it is based on open standard technologies, it also provided us with a quick and easy first approach to problem determination with the Autonomic Management Engine. The autonomic toolkit is full of ready-to-use autonomic technologies and standards that give us new competitive advantages for our products."

Criston Software solution: Criston Precision V5

Criston Software solution

Criston has incorporated support for the Common Base Event and the Autonomic Management Engine in its solutions. In addition, Criston Precision v5.1 smoothly integrates with Tivoli® Enterprise Console 3.9 through their relevant Events Management APIs. Criston Precision is able to export its own logs, and the Microsoft® Windows® NT events of all its controlled PCs, in plain Common Base Events format. Based on the Autonomic Management Engine technology from IBM, a permanent bridge allows filtering and redirecting information events to the Tivoli Enterprise Console. The administrator remains in full control of this mechanism, and can select and fine-tune the information he deems necessary to exchange with Tivoli Enterprise Console. From the latter, autonomic actions can be programmable based on the received events, so that Tivoli can react automatically to major events in the whole environment controlled by Criston Precision.
