• Updated WAI-ARIA statement on all ARIA checkpoints and AVT overview to read: WAI-ARIA is supported by Firefox 3.6 or later and JAWS 12 or later. If your application is ARIA enabled, you must perform AVT using Firefox 3.6 and JAWS 12.
• Checkpoint 1.1a:
  • Added an example to the Required development techniques to provide alternative text for emoticons.
  • Added examples to the Recommended development techniques section to provide alternative content for embedded elements and Embed elements should be immediately followed by a noembed.
• Checkpoint 1.1b:
  • Updated example to advise that users should not use filenames or placeholder text as text alternatives for audio or video media.
  • Added an example to the Required development techniques section to provide descriptive text in non-embedded elements.
• Checkpoint 1.3a:
  • Update summary example to include that a summary is required on complex tables and provided a description of a complex table.
  • Added an example to advise users that they should not use scripts to emulate links.
