Customized views

Enable the "Allow customizations" option in views.

Notes enables users to customize how information is displayed in views when the views have been designed with the "allow customizations" option set. This enhancement allows you to use the keyboard to sort view columns, hide or display columns in the view and specify vertical spacing between rows in the view. Without this option, someone who cannot use the mouse will not be able to modify the view to meet their needs. The "Allow customizations" option is enabled by default.

This feature is only supported in Notes 6 or later.

The following technique is the minimum required to meet Checkpoint 4.4 from the Lotus Notes Application Accessibility Checklist:

• Open the View Properties box and select the Info tab.
• Select the checkbox "Allow customizations".

Test techniques

The following technique is required to verify this checkpoint:

	Action	Result
1.	Verify views can be customized by the end user: Display the view you want to customize. Go to View-Customize this View. When the Customize View dialog is displayed, sort the view columns. Select one column and uncheck the Visible option so it will not be displayed in the view. Modify the vertical spacing between rows to double spacing.	Pass: "Customize this View" is listed as an option in the View menu. You can make columns visible or not visible. You can modify the vertical spacing between rows. Fail: The "Customize this View" option is displayed in the View menu, but you cannot use all options to customize the view. You cannot make columns visible or not visible. You cannot modify the vertical spacing in the view.
