Install this IBM Lotus Sametime plug-in and you're on your way to becoming a polyglot!
The IBM AbilityLab Sametime Language Translator can translate messages you and your partner type. To chat in a different language, click your partner's name, click the icon showing a hand holding a globe and choose preferred languages for you and your chat partner (Sametime remembers the setting you have chosen for this user the next time you chat).
In addition, the plug-in includes an auto-detect feature that can examine typed messages, determine the language and display the text in that language.
The IBM AbilityLab Sametime Language Translator is also an invaluable tool for when you need translation assistance beyond Sametime. To activate translation assistance outside of a chat session, click the "globe" icon on the main Sametime GUI, labeled "IBM AbilityLab Sametime Language Translator Ad-hoc Translation Assistant." The Translation Buddy GUI tool can then be used to translate text, files containing text, and Internet content.

Now, you can combine the IBM AbilityLab Sametime Language Translator with the IBM AbilityLab Conference Transcriber so that you can collaborate with your colleagues with sound, text and in various languages!
The IBM AbilityLab Sametime Conference Transcriber uses speech recognition software to translate your Sametime voice chat and place the text in your partner's text window.
